One Soul
We decided to focus on who our character 'Hamish' used to be, to portray him as a real person rather than a stereotype.
As we were aiming our motion video towards elderly people we didn't want to perpetuate any harmful conventions that could upset or turn our audience away.
These sketches are each designed to represent a different aspect of an octopus, such as their eating habits, grip strength, the water and ink they can expel, their three hearts, and even their protective maternal behaviour.
We visited KImmeridge Bay to collect colour samples we could use in our branding, as well as to gain insights in to the environment and textures of Rock Pools.
We envision using platforms like Instagram and TikTok, as these are likely the apps that our target audience of 15-year-old would use the most frequently.
