Bit by Bit
Bit by Bit is my well-being toolkit created to be sold by Lush at festivals, focusing on self-confidence and helping people be true their inner selves.
These sketches are each designed to represent a different aspect of an octopus, such as their eating habits, grip strength, the water and ink they can expel, their three hearts, and even their protective maternal behaviour.
We visited KImmeridge Bay to collect colour samples we could use in our branding, as well as to gain insights in to the environment and textures of Rock Pools.
I bought a Galaxy bath bomb, their best-seller, and used some of the patterns and colours that came from it to inform my designs.
I created a range of designs, often sticking to a bright colour palette, as Lush tends to use vibrant colours and I wanted to emulate this. After presenting my ideas to Lush employees, I chose to combine some of them and move forward with that design.
We envision using platforms like Instagram and TikTok, as these are likely the apps that our target audience of 15-year-old would use the most frequently.
I felt offering the advantage of naked products, with no packaging to be left as litter once the festival is over, resulting in less waste, aligning with Lush's ideals.
